About Newwebs Techs

The people behind Newwebs Techs, how each article about Plain-language help for building and running your own website is put together, and what we will not publish.

About this blog

This is a blog and nothing more complicated than that. Nothing is deleted once it is up, so the archive is the full record, written to the standard of the line under the logo, Building websites, explained for beginners.

Newwebs Techs started as a private notebook. Somebody kept a record of what was worth the money and what was noise, and after a few years that notebook was more useful than most of what was published online.

Where we stop

We are not the right place for advice tailored to your exact situation. Newwebs Techs publishes general guidance, and the difference matters more than it sounds.

What is filed here

  • Web Basics. How the web and websites actually work, without the jargon.
  • Web Design. Designing a website that looks good and is easy to use.
  • Performance. Making a website fast, and why speed matters so much.
  • SEO. Helping a new website be found in search, the honest way.
  • Hosting and Domains. Choosing where your site lives and the name it lives at.
  • Maintenance and Security. Keeping a website secure, updated, and running smoothly.
  • Games. Video games and gaming, from what we play to how games connect to the rest of life.

Each piece sits under exactly one heading. Readers arriving from search mostly land in web basics, web design and performance, so those sections get looked after first.

How this is put together

Every piece here starts with a question somebody actually asked. If we cannot answer it from experience or from a source we can name, it does not get published.

We buy what we write about. It is slower, it is more expensive, and it is the only arrangement that lets us say a thing was not worth it.

The full process, including corrections and commercial links, is set out on the editorial policy page.

The people

You can see who wrote what, and you can see everything else they wrote. That is deliberate, because it makes a bad article expensive for the person who wrote it.

Ravi Menon, Web fundamentals and SEO writer. Ravi explains how the web works and how sites get found, aimed at people building their first website.

Astrid Holm, Web design and maintenance writer. Astrid writes about designing and looking after websites, focused on clarity, usability, and sensible upkeep.

Felix Nkemelu, Performance and hosting writer. Felix covers website speed and hosting for beginners, turning technical topics into practical decisions.
